First of all, to my surprise…my fictional character, Harrison, just became “nonfiction!” As if he doesn’t give me enough trouble documenting his, Reece and Levi’s story…he goes and blows his cover! Now he’s on Facebook and when he’s on Earth, there is no telling what other social media sites he’ll randomly show up on! He better not give any secrets away!!! 👿
And now for a little sneak peek into my favorite book in the Ancient Guardians Series! Book III 🙂
Will the Guardian warriors risk everything they are known for to recover what is theirs? Book III brings us more thrills, adventures as we follow the Pemdai warriors as they journey into the unknown….You will not want to miss this third installment of the series, as Levi and Reece’s love grows stronger and Harrison steps up into a main character roll with them!
Still under edits and revisions, and hoping for a late 2014 release!
I promise to keep everyone who is excited for Book 3 in the Ancient Guardians series updated on release dates!
😎 Summer is almost here and the wonderful world of readers are already suggesting wonderful books to read! They have their favorites and I have mine. (I am not biased AT ALL 😉 First up and FREE on the sites below! (Free in Ebooks only, paperback for both novels are also available and on sale)
As authors we pour our hearts and souls into our writing. We edit and edit and edit and revise and rewrite and edit and edit! (A lot of ‘ands’ in there) but it is true. Our work MUST be polished and ready when it is time to publish. It is hard work for me, but I endure.
As writers, we our passionate about our work and hope that when we finally have our manuscripts ready for publish, that they will be received well by the wonderful world of readers. In most cases they are, but the truth is… Not everyone will enjoy your story! Some will gladly point out why they despised it, while others will happily and generously write why they loved or enjoyed it. It really is the beautiful thing about being a published author…some of the bad reviews will hurt, but you absolutely can’t focus on those. (Maybe use their critique to help you improve)
So long as we understand that everyone is different and have different opinions (thank goodness) we’ll easily accept those reviews that hurt. We won’t let them discourage us! We’ll focus on the reviews that made at least one reader fall in love with our story! That’s what it’s all about! Finding that one person that needed to read a book like yours!
I write this short blog, because I have been privately asked by other writers who are quite intimidated to publish their work, due to harsh criticism they see other authors receive.
I always answer with, not everyone will appreciate or enjoy your story. But, the point to writing is that someone out there needs your story. Your escape and your imagination!
I love this quote by Tom Hiddleston (well known as Loki in the Avengers). It keeps everything in perspective for anyone putting their work out for criticism.
So I say to Tom’s inspirational quote, “Shall we Dance, Tom? I prefer to dance in the rain!”

A BIG thank you to Candy for such a detailed and honest review of The Second book in the Ancient Guardians series! As an author, it is critical for me to have honest and detailed reviews to help readers decide whether or not a book is worth their money and time! This is something I take very seriously as an indie author, for the readers, for the book and for my name as an author! I’m grateful to Candy for taking the time to read and go above and beyond my expectations for a review!
Below you will find a excerpt of her review and I hope you’ll go to her site and read the entire review! -SL Morgan
Candy loves to read Book Review of Ancient Guardians: The Uninvited.
Wow! Now this is how you write a sequel! Morgan took us to the beautiful world of Pemdas in The Legacy of the Key and brought us back for another adventure in The Uninvited (the title isn’t directed at you, you’re invited). I looked at my book rating record and it would appear that the second book in a series scores lower than the first. Not this time.
They usually get a makeover…when they didn’t need it. You spend the first book learning about them, understanding their background, getting in their head. Excited for book 2, you look forward to picking up where you left off and catch up with the characters you have come to love. Finally, you get your hands on the sequel, settle down for the reunion, and wind up with strangers thinking Who are these people? They do or say something that is so far out in left field and out-of-character that I’m checking the name and going back to the first in the series to see if I’m going crazy. Thankfully, Reece and Levi are still Reece and Levi along with Harrison and the rest of the gang. No switching out Terrance Howard for Don Cheadle for the character of James Rhodes in Iron Man. Sorry, that just bugged the crap outta me. I don’t care about the reasons why but if you are going to replace someone, make them a different character! Change the role! Anyways, Reece is her down-to-earth self (well, down-to-pemdas now), Levi the passionate and fiercely protective prince, and Harrison the ever witty and loyal friend. If there is anything different about our lovely couple, they are more affectionate and by that I mean very affectionate. Which brings me to another reason that can make or break a sequel: the chemistry.

I can’t thank her enough for such a detailed and most of all HONEST review of Ancient Guardians: The Uninvited (Book 2, Ancient Guardians Novel Series)
WHO HOLDS THE POWER: BOOK ONE In this epic coming of age story, we meet Ivan Thompson. A mild mannered, well-cultured and distinguished working class youngster who finally comes to terms with an ongoing issue. With plenty of humor, fun, love, some romance, laughter, and uncensored hand to hand combat, the story talks about bullying. The rewards and the benefits one reaps when they take a stand and push back. And the consequences against those who dare to use it.
